Save Your Recovery Phrase
WeTalkin generates a recovery phrase — write it down on paper and store it in a safe, offline location. This phrase is the only way to restore your backup. Without it, backup data is permanently unrecoverable.

Set Backup Schedule
Choose daily, weekly, or manual backups. Daily backups minimize potential data loss. Check Settings > Chats > Backup to verify your last successful backup date.

Can WeTalkin access my backup?
No. Backups are encrypted with your recovery phrase using zero-knowledge architecture. WeTalkin never sees your recovery phrase. Even if backup storage is breached, the data is unreadable without your phrase.
What if I lose my recovery phrase?
Without your recovery phrase, encrypted backups cannot be restored. This is the security tradeoff of zero-knowledge encryption. Store your phrase securely — a physical safe or other secure offline location is recommended.
How large are backups?
Backup size depends on your message history and shared media. Text messages are very compact. You can configure backups to include or exclude media files to manage storage requirements.
