Block from Profile
View any user's profile, tap the three-dot menu, and select Block. This works even if you have not started a conversation with them — useful for proactive blocking.

Manage Your Block List
Go to Settings > Privacy > Blocked Users to see all blocked accounts. Unblock anyone by tapping the unblock button. Unblocking does not restore previously blocked messages.

Report and Block Combined
When blocking, you can optionally report the user for abuse, spam, or harassment. The Report & Block button combines both actions in one step. Reports are anonymous — the blocked user is not notified.

Will the person know they are blocked?
Blocked users are not explicitly notified. Their messages will not deliver and calls will not connect. They cannot see your profile, status, or last-seen information. From their perspective, messages appear sent but are never delivered.
Does blocking remove them from groups?
Blocking a user does not remove them from shared groups. You will still see their messages in groups. Ask a group admin to remove them from shared groups if needed.
Can I block someone who is not in my contacts?
Yes. If someone sends you an unwanted message, you can block them directly from the conversation or message request. You can also proactively block any username through Settings > Privacy > Blocked Users.
