1

Block from a Conversation

Open the conversation with the unwanted contact. Tap their name at the top > Block Contact. They immediately lose the ability to send you messages, call you, or see your profile. They are not notified of being blocked.

2

Block from Contact List

Go to Settings > Privacy > Blocked Contacts. Tap "Add" and search for the contact to block. This is useful for pre-emptively blocking someone before they message you.

3

Report Abusive Contacts

When blocking, you can optionally report the contact for abuse, spam, or harassment. Reports help WeTalkin identify and address platform misuse. Reporting is anonymous and does not compromise your encrypted conversations.

4

Manage Your Block List

View and manage all blocked contacts in Settings > Privacy > Blocked Contacts. You can unblock contacts at any time if circumstances change. Unblocking does not restore previously blocked messages.

5

Prevent Unwanted Discovery

Configure your privacy settings so only existing contacts can find you. Disable profile visibility for non-contacts. This prevents strangers from discovering your account and initiating unwanted communication.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will blocked contacts know they are blocked?

Blocked contacts are not explicitly notified. Their messages will not be delivered and calls will not connect, but they do not receive a "blocked" notification. From their perspective, messages appear sent but are not delivered.

Can blocked contacts still see my profile?

No. When you block someone, they lose access to your profile photo, status, and last-seen information. Your profile becomes invisible to blocked contacts.

Does blocking affect group chats?

Blocking a contact does not remove them from shared groups. You will still see their messages in group conversations. For groups, you can leave the group or ask an admin to remove the unwanted person.
