BeReal's core feature captures photos from both cameras simultaneously at a random time each day. By default, your BeReal is visible to friends only, but the Discovery feed can make it public. Go to Settings > Privacy and ensure Discovery is disabled if you want to limit visibility. Review your friends list regularly and remove anyone you do not want seeing your daily photos. Remember that friends can screenshot your BeReal, so consider this before posting.
BeReal accesses your camera and can collect location data attached to each photo. On iOS, go to Settings > BeReal > Location and set it to 'Never' if you do not want geographic data on your posts. Yes, BeReal can collect and display your approximate location on your posts by default. You can disable this by revoking location permissions in your phone settings. Even with location disabled, your IP address can reveal approximate geographic area.
