Verify Encryption Is Active

In any conversation, tap the contact name at the top to view conversation details. You will see a lock icon confirming end-to-end encryption is active. This is always on by default—you do not need to enable it.

Verify Your Contacts

For maximum security, verify contacts by comparing safety numbers. In conversation details, tap "Verify Contact" to display a QR code and number sequence. Compare these with your contact in person or through a separate trusted channel.

Enable Biometric Lock

Go to Settings > Privacy > App Lock. Enable Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint lock. This adds a device-level security layer so that even if someone accesses your unlocked phone, they cannot open WeTalkin without biometric authentication.

Configure Disappearing Messages

Set a default disappearing message timer in Settings > Privacy > Disappearing Messages. Choose from 5 seconds to 7 days. This applies to new conversations. You can override the default for individual conversations that need different retention.
