FaceTime provides E2EE by default for all calls including group calls. This is a significant privacy advantage over Zoom, where E2EE is optional and disables features. For encrypted video calls between Apple users, FaceTime is excellent.
FaceTime works only on Apple devices. If any participant uses Android or Windows, FaceTime is not an option. Zoom works everywhere but without reliable E2EE. This creates a painful tradeoff between encryption and accessibility.
